Big Guns Perforating and Logging Inc.
Our mission is to provide completion and production personnel an effective and hassle-free cased-hole completion and abandonment experience. With this clarity of focus and a passion for innovation, we rarely pass-up an opportunity to enhance our fleet's capabilities.
Big Guns is a privately-held owned company offering completions innovation since 1996.
In 1996 Big Guns introduced its first Log Swab and Shoot unit which eliminated the need for a service rig on location for cased hole completions.
In 2000 our trailer units with picker trucks were replaced with mast trucks.
In 2001 we built and integrated grease injector technology onto our trucks.
In 2002 our 9/16" swab line was replaced with multi-purpose 3/8" e-line.
Also in 2002 we opened our Brooks field office.
In 2003 we developed the ability to provide slant hole services.
In 2004 Big Guns introduced its Log Swab and TCP technology with its first combination cased-hole wireline service rig. This was the first time in history that a cased hole logging truck had been able to rig up to a well, run a bond log, swab the casing dry, and then tubing conveyed the perforating gun (TCP) in the well on jointed pipe. Of equal importance was that all AEUB regulations were met or exceeded at the same time.
In 2005 we built our first pressure truck capable of handling well pressures of 35 MPA.
Also in 2005 we opened our Whitecourt field office.
In 2006 another innovation enabled us to extend our one truck completions services to abandonment where the same enhanced wireline truck was able to run and pull tubing in a live well.
In 2007 we opened an office in Swift Current.
As of today we have a fleet of 11 innovative trucks offering a full range of completion, production and abandonment services.
